Voici le texte d’une invitation qui m’a ete adressee par la poste, on ne peut plus inattendue. Chers eminents specialistes canadiens<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai recu votre invitation a participer a une deliberation publique
sur “Envisager de nouveaux criteres pour la transplantation renale”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je suis touche et j’apprecie que vous ayez considere ma personne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je me suis demande, en quoi, ma “personne” pouvait etre interessante
comme candidature pour participer a cette deliberation publique, mais
au final, cette invitation un peu intriguante, surprenante\u2026 je dois
la refuser au nom meme des principes et des valeurs sur la democratie,
la liberte academique, la recherche scientifique libre dans un etat
de droit et sous l’oeil inquisiteur de la Loi. Je decline donc, respectueusement,
cette invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je sais bien que c’etait, de votre part a tous trois, eminents specialistes
canadiens de la sante, une invitation genereuse, et je vous en suis reconnaissant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esperant que ces debats ouvriront de nouveaux horizons sur la democratisation
de la recherche scientifique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I received your invitation to participate in a public deliberation
on “Considering New Criteria for Kidney Transplantation”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am touched and I appreciate that you have considered my person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wondered, in what, my “person” could be interesting
as a candidate to participate in this public deliberation, but
in the end, this somewhat intriguing, surprising invitation \u2026
refuse it in the very name of the principles and values \u200b\u200bof democracy,
academic freedom, free scientific research in a state
of right and under the inquisitive eye of the Law. I therefore decline, respectfully,
this invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know very well that all three of you were eminent specialists
Canadians, a generous invitation, and I am grateful to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoping that these debates will open new horizons on democratization
of scientific research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
