{"id":2059,"date":"2020-12-14T08:57:13","date_gmt":"2020-12-14T08:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.comandantetchao.net\/wp\/?p=2059"},"modified":"2020-12-14T08:57:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-14T08:57:15","slug":"xinhua-headlines-xi-focus-chinas-further-commitments-inject-impetus-for-global-climate-actions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.comandantetchao.net\/wp\/?p=2059","title":{"rendered":"Xinhua Headlines-Xi Focus: China&#8217;s further commitments inject impetus for global climate actions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Source: Xinhua| 2020-12-13 02:44:37|Editor: huaxia<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/vodpub2.v.news.cn\/publish\/20201213\/XxjwsmE007005_20201213_CBMFN0A001.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212; China announced further commitments for 2030 to contribute more to tackling the global climate challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212; President Xi made three proposals to improve the global climate governance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212; Xi&#8217;s latest pledge showed that China, as a responsible major country, is committed to building a community with a shared future for humanity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) &#8212; Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday announced the country&#8217;s further commitments for 2030 to contribute more to tackling the global climate challenge, when addressing the Climate Ambition Summit via video link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said China will lower its carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by over 65 percent from the 2005 level, increase the share of non-fossil fuels in primary energy consumption to around 25 percent, increase the forest stock volume by 6 billion cubic meters from the 2005 level, and bring its total installed capacity of wind and solar power to over 1.2 billion kilowatts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Xi announced in September that China would scale up its nationally determined contributions and adopt more vigorous policies and measures, with goals to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.xinhuanet.com\/english\/2020-12\/13\/139584915_16077986770091n.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><em><sub>Aerial photo taken on Aug. 19, 2020 shows wind turbines in Jiucaiping scenic spot in southwest China&#8217;s Guizhou Province.
