NPR-Rep. Omar Says She Is Drafting New Articles Of Impeachment Against Trump

Rep. Ilhan Omar said she is drafting articles of impeachment against President Trump. She blamed him for his supporters’ attempt at an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
“Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate,” wrote Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota. “We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath.”

CNN-Congress affirms Biden’s Electoral College victory
Congress has just affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory over President Trump.
The counting of Vermont’s three electoral votes put Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris over the 270-threshold needed to win the presidency.
The Senate and House rejected objections to throw out Georgia and Pennsylvania’s electoral votes for Biden. Republicans also objected to Arizona, Nevada and Michigan’s electoral votes, but the motions failed before they reached debate.
“The announcement of the state of the vote by the President of the Senate shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons elected President and Vice President of the United States, each for the term beginning on the 20th day of January 2021 and shall be entered together with the list of the votes on the journals of the Senate and the House of Representatives,” Pence said following the count of all of the state’s Electoral College votes.

New York (CNN Business)Democrats are on the cusp of taking control of the Senate, breathing new life into President-elect Joe Biden’s economic agenda at a time America’s job market could really need the help.
The job market recovery that began in May has run out of steam and economists predict the unemployment rate rose to 6.8% between November and December. It would be the first increase in the jobless rate since April.
Biden wants to solve America’s jobs crisis with infrastructure investments and green energy. That could help to create jobs in the long term — including one million jobs in the auto industry and 10 million clean energy jobs, according to Biden’s plan. It could also help with automation eating into America’s manufacturing jobs and displacing workers.
But the United States has a short-term jobs crisis to deal with, too, and that will be tricky for Biden and Congress to solve.
